J.T. Poston became the 13th first-time winner on the PGA Tour this year. An incredible feat for all first-time winners but this season seems to be uniquely suited for such an accomplishment. More than any previous year, the PGA Tour seems to be a "young man's game" at this point. While veterans fight for their career moments, these youngsters are making their marks on the 2019 golf season.
J.T.'s win at The Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro NC was an extra special one for he and his team. A native of the area, JT shot 62 on Sunday to beat out previous champion, Webb Simpson and take home a cool $1.1M. It's always great to see the smiles on a first-time PGA winner's face. The gravity of their accomplishment doesn't sink in for quite some time but the memory of their respective moments will live on forever.
Congrats to JT Poston, his family and his team. It was truly a remarkable win!
