Magical Mullet Moment at the Open Championship

Epic Sunday at the Open Championship after Cameron Smith dropped a Tas-Tee 64 with a score of 30 on the final 9 holes, at the home of golf, when it seemed like the world and all of it's forces were behind local favorite Rory McIlroy.

Cam did not waiver.  When he needed to get up & down on the famous 17th where I saw Constanino Rocca make an absolute bomb in front of a "home crowd" en route to the John Daly playoff in 1995.  This hole has had some special moments and none were better than I saw from Cameron.  After putting it narrowly around the front bunker, he had over 12 feet for par and nailed it.  Even after his heroic up & down, he needed birdie or better on 18 and hit an incredible drive that allowed him to post a final round score of 64.

Rory had the exact same conditions but hit a poor trajectory drive that hit a knob and stayed well short of the green.  He had so far for his second (and needed it to tie Cameron Smith and get into a playoff) that Rory chased the eagle attempt well past the hole and ended up two putting from there for third place.  Second went to Cameron Young who quietly had an incredible Sunday.  CY has ALL the shots and as far I've seen him, his short game may be better than his shotmaking.. scary

Awesome ending and although the European favorite didn't win, I was happy to see such a cool dude win the Open.  Congrats to Cam and his team!
